Okay, here’s my attempt at a blog post following your instructions, written in a casual, personal style, and focused on the process:
So, I decided to give this “Absolute Superman 2024” thing a shot. It sounded kinda cheesy, but I was curious. Basically, the idea is to push yourself in different areas – fitness, learning, creativity, whatever – and track your progress throughout the year. I’ve tried New Year’s resolutions before, and they usually fizzle out by February, so I figured a year-long, structured approach might actually work.
Getting Started
First, I needed to figure out what my “Superman” areas were gonna be. I’m not trying to, like, become an actual superhero, but I wanted to pick things I genuinely wanted to improve.
- Fitness: I’ve been pretty lazy lately, so I decided to aim for working out at least three times a week. Nothing crazy, just some basic strength training and maybe some cardio.
- Learning: I’ve always wanted to learn Spanish, so I downloaded Duolingo and committed to at least 15 minutes a day.
- Creativity: I used to love drawing, but I haven’t done it in years. I decided to try and sketch something, anything, at least once a week.
The First Few Weeks (aka The Struggle)
The First week, Man, it was it. I did an intense full-body home work-out, and my muscles were screaming.
I almost forgot a few times, but I set up reminders on my phone, and that helped a lot. The Duolingo Spanish was actually kinda fun, and I felt super smart stringing together basic sentences.
I even managed to do a couple of quick sketches – they weren’t masterpieces, but hey, I was doing it!
Keeping it Going
The real trick, I realized, was making this stuff a habit. It’s not about being perfect; it’s about showing up, even when you don’t feel like it.
I started tracking my progress in a simple notebook. Just a quick note each day about what I did. Seeing those checkmarks added up was surprisingly motivating.
The Results (So Far)
It’s been a few months now, and I’m actually seeing some real changes. I’m definitely feeling stronger, and I can even run a bit without feeling like I’m gonna die. My Spanish is still pretty basic, but I can understand way more than I could before. And I’ve got a small collection of sketches that I’m actually kinda proud of.
More importantly, I just feel… better. More energized, more focused, more like I’m actually doing something with my time. It’s not about being a “Superman,” it’s about feeling like a slightly better version of myself. And that’s pretty cool.
I am going to insist it till the end of the year.
