Okay, so I’ve been wanting to dive into some classic comic crossovers, and what’s more classic than Superman vs. The Amazing Spider-Man? I decided to track down all the comics featuring this epic showdown.
The Hunt Begins
First, I hit up my usual online comic shops. I typed in “Superman vs. Spider-Man” and… well, I got a bunch of stuff, but not everything I was after. I realized pretty quickly that I needed to be more specific.
Digging Deeper
I started researching the exact titles and issue numbers. This took a bit of time, browsing through comic book forums and fan wikis. I jotted down everything I found, making a little checklist for myself.
- Superman vs. The Amazing Spider-Man: The Battle of the Century (1976) – This one was the obvious starting point, the original crossover.
- Then there was that follow up DC and Marvel did in the 90s.
Scoring the Goods
Armed with my list, I went back to my search. I managed to find digital copies of some, so I grabbed those immediately. And, I found out that my older brother had the second one and he had the first one on order, I’m going to read his.
Reading Time!
Finally, I settled in and started reading. It’s cool seeing these two iconic heroes clash. It’s funny with the differenc in their powers and how they they react to each other’s worlds. My favorite scene might be where they first meet and realize what’s going on, so I read that first. I finished the first book, and can not wait for my brothers to arrive, so I can read through them all. I made sure to bookmark every few pages, just in case I wanted to stop and take a break. It took a few hours with all the stopping and searching, but I made it!
