Okay, so I’ve been seeing ads for “AMC FearFest 2024” everywhere, and honestly, I’m a total scaredy-cat. But, my friends are all horror movie fanatics, and they’ve been begging me to join them for a movie marathon. So, I decided to, you know, dip my toes into the spooky waters.
First, I checked out the AMC website. Just trying to get a feel for what movies were playing, showtimes, that kind of basic stuff. There are various choices, and I felt a bit lost. So, I tried to find a way to get myself organized.
I grabbed a pen and paper – yeah, I’m old school – and started jotting down the movies that sounded least terrifying. I mean, some of those descriptions…yikes! I focused on the ones that seemed more like thrillers or maybe had a bit of dark humor. Anything with “chainsaw” or “demonic possession” was immediately off the list.
Next, I texted my friends. A group chat, naturally. I laid out my very carefully curated list of “maybe” movies and asked them to weigh in. Of course, they immediately started teasing me, but they also offered some helpful suggestions. Like, “Oh, that one’s actually more suspenseful than gory,” or “That one has a few jump scares, but it’s mostly psychological.”
After a bit of back-and-forth, we narrowed it down to two movies. Two! That’s a huge win for * I checked showtimes and thought about snacks and seats to reserve. Then the last thing, I booked the tickets online.
I even prepared a “survival kit” – a small bag with a blanket (for hiding, obviously), some stress-relieving candy, and maybe even some earplugs. Don’t judge!
So, I did watch a few movies. It wasn’t as bad as I thought. I mean, I definitely jumped a few times and maybe squeezed my eyes shut during some parts, but I survived! And honestly, it was kind of fun to be scared with my friends. Plus, I got major bragging rights for being the “brave one” for even attempting FearFest.
