Okay, so I had this Minecraft server running with Apex Hosting for my friends and me. We played for a few months, but then everyone got busy with, you know, life stuff. So, the server was pretty much a ghost town. I figured, why keep paying for something we weren’t using, right?
My first step was logging into my Apex Hosting account. I poked around the control panel, looking for something like “Cancel Service” or “Terminate Account.” It wasn’t super obvious, I gotta admit. I think I spent a good 10-15 minutes just clicking around.
Finding the Cancellation Button
Eventually, I found it buried in the billing section. There was a button that I clicked, and that seemed to start the cancellation process. It asked me to confirm, and it showed me a screen where I had to type “confirm”. I did. I remember this part.
Now, the big question: would I get any money back? I had paid for a few months upfront. I wasn’t expecting a full refund, of course, but maybe a little something for the unused time?
After I canceled, I didn’t see anything immediately about a refund. So, I decided to contact their support. I sent them a message through their support ticket system. I just asked straight up: “I canceled my server, will I receive a refund for the unused time?”
I waited. I think they are using a chatbot answering system because sometimes it feels like a robot is answering me, haha.
I finally got an email back.It basically said that since i was past their 7-day refund period, I wasn’t eligible for any money back. Bummer! I guess I should have read the fine print more carefully.
So, lesson learned! If you’re thinking of canceling Apex Hosting, make sure you do it within that 7-day window if you want any chance of a refund. Otherwise, you’re basically forfeiting any money you’ve already paid. I wish I had known this before, but hey, live and learn, right?
