Okay, so I’ve been wanting to beef up my collection of Batman Animated Series stuff, and I figured, why not start with some figures? I’ve always loved the look of that show – so stylized and cool. So, I decided to dive in and see what I could find.
Getting Started
First things first, I needed to figure out what figures were even out there. I hit up some collector forums and fan sites. It turns out, there’s a TON. Like, way more than I expected. Different versions of Batman, Robin, the whole rogues gallery…it was a little overwhelming, to be honest.
Narrowing it Down
I decided to focus on just a few characters to start. Obviously, Batman was a must. Then, I figured I’d grab Joker, because, well, he’s the Joker. And finally, I decided on Harley Quinn, because she’s awesome in the animated series.
The Hunt Begins!
I started checking out online stores. Some were selling individual figures, others had sets. Prices were all over the place, depending on the condition and whether they were still in the original packaging. I saw some seriously pricey vintage ones!
I also looked at some local comic shops and toy stores. It’s always fun to hunt in person, you never know what you might find tucked away on a shelf.
Making the Purchase
After a bunch of searching, I finally found a few figures that fit my budget and were in decent shape. I ended up getting a Batman and Joker two-pack online, and I managed to snag a Harley Quinn at a local comic book convention! I was so happy, and lucky!
The Goods Arrive!
The online order arrived first. I ripped that box open like a kid on Christmas morning. The figures were even cooler in person! The detailing was great, and they really captured the look of the show. And they were not that expensive at all, what a great deal!
Then, a week later, I went to that comic-con and found Harley. She was in perfect condition, still in the box! I haggled a little bit with the seller, and we agreed on a price. Score!
Display Time
Now, I’ve got my little animated series display set up on my shelf. Batman, Joker, and Harley are all standing there, looking awesome. I’m definitely going to keep adding to the collection. Maybe Robin next, or Poison Ivy… the possibilities are endless!
It’s been a fun little project, and I’m really happy with how it’s turning out. If you’re a fan of the Batman Animated Series, I totally recommend getting some figures. They’re a great way to show off your love for the show!
