Okay, so the other day, I was thinking about movies like “Up,” you know, the one with the old guy and the flying house? That movie is awesome, and it got me thinking about other movies that have that same kind of feel-good vibe. So, I decided to do a little digging.
Started with a Search
First, I jumped on the internet and typed in something like “best movies like Up.” Just wanted to see what other people thought. I scrolled through a bunch of lists, and it was pretty cool to see what came up.

Found Some Classics
Of course, “Tangled” was on a lot of lists. I mean, who doesn’t love Rapunzel, right? It has that same sense of adventure and, well, a talking horse, so it’s automatically amazing. It’s one of those movies that just makes you smile.
Checked Out Streaming
Then, I looked at some streaming sites. You know, the usual ones. I wanted to find movies that were similar and easy to watch. Some were new to me, some were old favorites, but it was cool to browse and add stuff to my list.
Watched Some Trailers
I watched a few trailers too. Trailers are great because you can get a good sense of the movie without actually watching the whole thing. I saw one for a movie called “The Mitchell’s vs. The Machines” that looked pretty hilarious. It had that family adventure theme that I was looking for, so I added it to my watch list.
Made My List
After a few hours of searching and watching trailers, I made a pretty decent list. It has a good mix of animated movies and some live-action ones too. Some that I definitely remember exploring and being moved by just like when watching “Up”, were the ones where the main characters wanted to explore far-away lands.
Here’s What I Ended Up With
- Tangled: Because it’s Rapunzel, and it’s awesome.
- The Mitchell’s vs. The Machines: Looks funny, family adventure, and robots.
- And a bunch of others that I need to check out.
It was a fun little project. Now I have a bunch of movies to watch that hopefully give me that same warm, fuzzy feeling that “Up” did. I’ll let you know how it goes! Maybe I’ll find some new favorites along the way. Gotta go make some popcorn now!
