Okay, so the other day, I was thinking about movies like “Alice in Wonderland.” You know, the kind that takes you to a whole other world? I really wanted to find some similar movies. So, I started by jotting down some movies that I already knew.
First up, “Harry Potter.” I mean, who doesn’t love those movies? They’ve got magic, adventure, and a whole world hidden within our own. I wrote down all eight of them because, honestly, you can’t just watch one.
Then I thought about “The Wizard of Oz.” That’s a classic! It’s got that whole “girl gets whisked away to a magical land” vibe, so it felt like a good one to include. Dorothy’s journey is so iconic, and it’s got that same dreamy feel as Alice.
After that, I found that someone mentioned “The Fabulous Baron Munchausen” from 1962. They said it was a big inspiration for a more modern movie called “The Adventures of Baron Munchausen.” I made a note to check out both of those later.
I also found a suggestion for this movie called “Kids.” It sounded pretty trippy. Basically, Alice dreams she’s in a place called the land behind the mirror, and it’s a total nightmare with weird stuff happening. I’m into that kind of thing, so I added it to my list.
And the last one I found was basically that when it comes to finding movies similar to Alice in Wonderland, you gotta look for that sense of wonder, that feeling of being transported to somewhere else. So, I decided that that is what I will do.
So, that’s what I’ve got so far. A list of movies that might be like “Alice in Wonderland,” some classics, and some I haven’t seen yet. I’m gonna start watching them and see if they give me that same feeling. I will let you know what I found!
- Harry Potter (all eight movies)
- The Wizard of Oz (1939)
- The Fabulous Baron Munchausen (1962)
- The Adventures of Baron Munchausen
- Kids
Next Steps
I will keep searching for movies that capture that “Alice in Wonderland” magic. And, of course, I’ll be watching the ones I’ve already found. I will also probably go down a rabbit hole of searching, but that’s part of the fun, right? Stay tuned, because I will share my thoughts after watching them!
