Okay, so I’ve been messing around with trying to get a custom broadcast look for my streams, and I finally cracked the code on this “CBS Broadcast Mod” thing. Let me tell you, it wasn’t exactly a walk in the park, but I figured it out, and now I’m gonna share how I did it.
The Hunt Begins
First, I had to find the mod itself. That was probably the easiest part, took a bit of Googling, digging through forums and communities. I needed something that could overhaul graphics, something flexible.
Installation Station
I downloaded the files, found, and backed everything up first, I would be in trouble if I messed up the original files. The installation was more involved. It wasn’t just a “drop it in” kind of deal. There were configuration files to edit, specific folders to place things in…it was intense.
Tweaking Time
This is where the real work started. I opened up those configuration files, and let me tell you, it was a wall of text and numbers. I had to figure out what each setting did, experimenting with different values. I spent hours just tweaking colors, positions of elements, and sizes. It was a lot of trial and error.
I kept making small changes, saving the file, then launching the game to see the results. Back and forth, back and forth.
I broke the game couple of times during my experiments and I had to copy my backup to fix it.
Getting It Just Right
My goal was to mimic the CBS broadcast style. So, I needed the right fonts, the right color scheme (lots of blues and whites, I noticed), and the specific layout of the scoreboards and graphics.
- Fonts: Finding the exact fonts was tough. I ended up using a font that was “close enough.” It’s not perfect, but it captures the vibe.
- Colors: The color palette was easier. I used a color picker tool to grab the exact colors from some CBS broadcast screenshots.
- Layout: This was the most time-consuming part. I had to meticulously adjust the positions of every element on the screen to match the CBS style.
The Final Result
After a LOT of fiddling, I finally got something I was happy with. It’s not a 100% perfect replica, but it definitely has that CBS broadcast feel. The scores look right, the colors are on point, and the overall layout is pretty darn close.
It was a headache, sure, but totally worth it in the end. My streams look way more professional now. And, I get it, everyone wants it for themselves.
