Okay, so I stumbled upon this thing called “comic carveu” and figured, why not give it a shot? I’m no artist, but it looked kinda fun.
Getting Started
First, I spent like an hour just searching for what “comic carveu” even is. It’s not exactly mainstream, you know? Turns out, it’s all about a comic style.
The Process
I decided to start with a simple subject, so I could get used to the effect without things getting too crazy.
- Downloaded some software:.I just grabbed whatever seemed legit and had a free trial, figuring I could always switch later.
- Experimented like crazy: This was the messy part. I spent ages messing with different filters and settings. I really just clicked buttons until something looked halfway decent.
- Screwed up a bunch: Oh yeah, there were plenty of “undo” moments. I accidentally made my practice subject look like he’s melting. It was a learning experience, to say the least.
Finally Figuring It Out
After a good few hours of trial and error, I started to get the hang of it. It’s all about finding the right settings, you know? Not too much, not too little. Just enough to give it that stylized look without going overboard.
I still have a ton to learn, but it’s pretty cool seeing a regular photo turn into something that looks like it belongs in a comic book. My first attempts were rough, no doubt, but hey, everyone starts somewhere, right?
