Alright, so the other day I decided to dive into the world of “The Walking Dead” toys. I’ve always been a huge fan of the show, and I figured, why not bring some of that zombie-apocalypse fun into my own home?
First things first, I cleared off a shelf in my living room. Gotta make room for the new additions, right? Then, I started browsing online. I wanted to get a good mix of characters, not just all walkers or all heroes. Variety is the spice of life, even in the apocalypse.
I ended up ordering a few different figures. I got Rick Grimes, of course, because you can’t have a “Walking Dead” collection without the main man. Then I snagged a Michonne figure, complete with her katana, because she’s just a total badass. And to round things out, I threw in a couple of walkers, one of them being the “Bicycle Girl” zombie from the first episode – a classic!
While I was waiting for them to arrive, I started thinking about how I wanted to display them. I didn’t just want to stick them on the shelf in a straight line. Boring! I wanted to create a little scene, like a mini diorama of the show.
So, I grabbed some random stuff from around the house. Some old cardboard boxes, some twigs and leaves from the backyard, even some leftover paint from a previous project. I basically turned into a kid again, messing around with whatever I could find.
Once the figures arrived, I got to work. I used the cardboard to build some makeshift walls and barriers, like the ones they use in the show. I painted them with a mix of gray and brown to make them look all grimy and post-apocalyptic.
Then, I arranged the figures in the scene. I had Rick and Michonne back-to-back, fighting off the walkers. I even used some red paint to add some “blood” splatter to the walkers and the surrounding area. Gotta make it look realistic, you know?
- Positioned Rick front and center.
- Placed Michonne right beside him, sword ready.
- Surrounded them with the walkers, closing in.
Finally, I scattered the twigs and leaves around to add some extra detail. It actually turned out pretty cool, if I do say so myself. It’s not perfect, but it’s my own little slice of “The Walking Dead” universe.
Now, every time I walk past that shelf, I get a little kick out of it. It’s a fun reminder of one of my favorite shows, and it was a blast to put together. Plus, it’s a great conversation starter when people come over. Who knew zombie toys could be so entertaining?
