Okay, so I’ve been on this huge horror movie kick lately, and after watching “Pearl”, I was like, “I NEED MORE MOVIES LIKE THIS!” So, I started digging around, trying to find similar flicks. It wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be!
My Search Begins!
First, I just went straight to Google. You know, typed in “movies like Pearl” and hoped for the best. I got a bunch of lists, but they were kinda all over the place. Some suggestions were okay, some were… not so much. It felt like a lot of random horror movies thrown together.
Then, I tried to be more specific. I started thinking about what I actually liked about “Pearl”. It’s that whole, like, colorful but creepy vibe, you know? And the unhinged main character. So I searched for things like “colorful horror movies” and “movies with crazy female leads”. This helped a little, narrowing things down a bit.
Diving into Forums
After that, I figured I’d hit up some forums. Reddit, you know, places where real people talk about movies. I found some threads about “Pearl”, and people were recommending other films in the comments. This felt a lot more genuine than those random lists I found earlier.
I found some users recommended serveral movies in those fourms, and then I jotted down some of the titles that kept popping up.
Making My Watchlist
So, after all that searching and digging, I finally put together a decent watchlist. Here’s what I ended up with, just based on my gut feeling and what other people seemed to like:
- “May” (2002):Because someone said it had a similar lonely, disturbed character.
- “Repulsion” (1965) :Saw this mentioned a few times, apparently, it’s a classic about a woman’s mental breakdown.
- “The Piano Teacher” (2001): I had seen this before, but I decide to watch it again.
- “Suspiria” (1977) :This came up a lot when I searched for “colorful horror”.
It took a bit of effort, but I’m pretty happy with my list! It’s always fun to go down these movie rabbit holes. Hopefully, these will give me that same creepy, unsettling feeling I got from “Pearl”. Wish me luck!
