Okay, so, I’ve been trying to get this offline with bots thing working in CS2, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a journey.
At first, I thought it would be straightforward, you know? Just like the old days. But nope, CS2 decided to throw a little curveball.
Start the Game and Choose Practice Mode
I started by firing up the game, clicked on the big old “Play” button, and found the “Practice” mode. There’s an option there that says “Practice with Bots.” Seemed simple enough, right?
Set Up the Game
Next, I picked a map, any map really, and made sure I chose the “Competitive” mode because that’s the mode I wanted to practice. Booted up the game and…nothing. No bots.
Console Commands
Then, I remembered the good ol’ console commands. I hit that tilde key (~) and the console popped up. I typed in “bot_kick” to clear out any potential lingering bots, then “mp_autoteam balance 0” to stop the game from trying to balance teams.
Adding Bots
Now for the fun part, adding the bots back in. I used “bot_add_t” to add bots to the Terrorist side and “bot_add_ct” for the Counter-Terrorists. You can adjust the number of bots as you like.
Restarting the Round
But, here’s the kicker, after adding the bots, they just stood there. So, I had to use another command, “sv_restartround 1”, to restart the round. And bam, the bots finally started moving!
Experimenting and Tweaking
From there, I just played around with different commands to tweak the bot difficulty and behavior. It took some trial and error, but I eventually got it to a point where it felt like a decent challenge.
Conclusion
So yeah, it wasn’t as plug-and-play as I hoped, but I managed to figure it out. It’s a bit of a workaround, but hey, it works. Now I can practice my CS2 skills offline with bots to my heart’s content.
Hope this helps someone else out there who’s struggling with the same thing. It’s not perfect, but it gets the job done. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got some bots to frag. Have fun, guys!
- Firstly, I launched CS2.
- Secondly, I selected the practice mode and chose to practice with bots.
- Thirdly, I used console commands like “bot_kick”, “mp_autoteam balance 0”.
- Fourthly, I added bots with “bot_add_t” and “bot_add_ct”.
- Finally, I restarted the round using “sv_restartround 1” and the bots became active.
And then, I can play the game with the bots.
