Okay, so I decided to watch “Deadpool and Wolverine” today. I’ve been trying to avoid spoilers, you know, like the plague. It’s tough, man! Every corner of the internet is a minefield.
First things first, I blocked a bunch of keywords on all my social media. Words like “Deadpool,” “Wolverine,” “cameo,” “spoiler,” you name it. Anything even remotely related, I zapped it. I went full digital hermit.
Next, I picked the theater. I went with a smaller one, a bit out of the way. I figured the hardcore fans who gotta-see-it-opening-night would probably flock to the bigger, more popular places. Less chance of overhearing someone blabbing about the movie before I got in.
I booked my ticket online. It was a mid-afternoon showing on a weekday. Trying to avoid the big crowds, you know? Less chatter, less risk. I selected my setas far away as possible.
My Pre-Movie Ritual
- No phone zone. I powered down my phone before I even got to the theater. No accidental peeks at anything.
- Headphones on. I kept my headphones on, playing some loud music, all the way until the previews started. Blocked out any potential conversations around me.
- Eyes down. Seriously, I practically walked in staring at the floor. No looking at posters, no making eye contact with anyone, just straight ahead.
- Snack strategy. I bought a small bag to eat. Quick and easy, no lingering in the lobby.
During the movie, it was awesome! I was totally engrossed. No spoilers, no distractions, just pure, unadulterated movie enjoyment.
After the movie? Straight home. Headphones back on, phone still off. I didn’t even look at the internet until I was safely back in my spoiler-free bubble. It was a success! I managed to see “Deadpool and Wolverine” without a single spoiler ruining the experience. Feels good, man. Feels real good.
