Okay, so today I messed around with Cheat Engine while playing Helldivers 2. It’s actually pretty fun to tweak things and see what happens. I started by launching the game and getting into a mission, you know, the usual stuff. Then, I opened up Cheat Engine and attached it to the Helldivers 2 process. It’s just a few clicks, nothing too complicated.
Finding the Ammo
First, I wanted to see if I could stop running out of ammo. I started with a full clip and fired off a few shots. I noted down how much ammo I had left, and then switched over to Cheat Engine to do a scan for that value. After a couple more shots and a few more scans, I narrowed it down to just a handful of addresses. I picked one that looked promising and changed the value to something ridiculous, like 999. Boom, back in the game, I had 999 bullets in my magazine! I even tried freezing the value, which was cool because it meant I could just spray and pray without a care in the world.
Infinite Grenades
Grenades were next on my list. The process was pretty similar. I started with my current grenade count and did an initial scan in Cheat Engine. Threw a grenade, scanned again, threw another, scanned again. Eventually, I found the right address and set the value to 99. Now, I could just spam grenades everywhere. It was total chaos, but super fun.
Super Samples Galore
Samples are a big deal in this game, so I figured, why not try to max those out too? This one was a bit trickier because there are different types of samples. I started with the common samples. Did a scan for the current amount, picked up a few in-game, scanned again, and kept repeating until I found the address. Changed the value to something like 500, and I was suddenly rich in common samples. I did the same for rare and super samples. It took a bit longer, but eventually, I cracked those too. Now I’ve got a stockpile of samples that would make any Helldiver jealous.
God Mode
The last thing I tried was a bit more advanced, finding my health value. Took damage a few times and each time i will scan my health value in Cheat Engine, finally I got it. Freezing the value made me invincible, which was pretty cool for just running around and not worrying about dying. Although the game did get a bit boring without the challenge, it was still fun to experiment.
Here’s a quick rundown of what I did:
- Launched Helldivers 2 and got into a mission.
- Opened Cheat Engine and attached it to the game process.
- Found and modified ammo values to get infinite ammo.
- Repeated the process for grenades.
- Searched for and increased sample counts.
- Activated a sort of “god mode” by freezing the health value.
It’s pretty wild what you can do with Cheat Engine. Just remember to play fair and not ruin the fun for others if you’re doing this in a multiplayer setting. And hey, it’s always a good idea to back up your saves before you start messing around, just in case something goes wrong. Happy hacking!
