Okay, so I finally got my hands on the McFarlane Spider-Man figure I’d been eyeing. You know, the one based on the Todd McFarlane art style? Yeah, that one. Super hyped about it, so I figured I’d share my little adventure with it.
Unboxing and First Impressions
First things first, the packaging. It’s pretty standard, nothing too crazy, but it does a good job showcasing the figure. Got the box open, and bam, there he is. My initial thought? This thing looks even better in person than it did online. The sculpt is seriously detailed, capturing that classic, almost exaggerated, McFarlane look.
Posing and Articulation
Pulled him out of the plastic, and the first thing I did was check out the articulation. Now, I’m a big stickler for posing my figures. This Spider-Man doesn’t disappoint. He’s got a ton of joints. Tried bending the knees, elbows, wrists, ankles – everything moves smoothly. The torso has a nice crunch, and even the head has a good range of motion. Spent a good twenty minutes just messing around, getting him into some iconic Spidey poses. The double-jointed elbows and knees are a game-changer, letting you get those really dynamic, web-slinging stances.
Accessories
He doesn’t come with a ton of stuff, but what he does have is pretty cool. Swapped out the hands a few times. He’s got the fists, the thwipping hands, and some relaxed ones. It’s enough to give you some variety.
The Verdict
Overall, I’m super happy with this figure. I really wanted to make some changes to it. Got my paint and brush, and began to paint with a new color.
I put my modified Spider-man figure into my display case!
It’s a great representation of the McFarlane era Spider-Man, and it’s just a blast to pose. If you’re a fan of that classic comic book look, or just a Spider-Man fan in general, I’d definitely recommend picking this one up.
