Today I wanted to watch Cars 2 in 3D. I’ve got the Blu-ray, but I needed to make sure everything was set up right. So first, I grabbed the Cars 2 Blu-ray 3D disc from my movie shelf.
Next, I went over to my TV and made sure my Blu-ray player was hooked up properly. I double-checked all the cables, you know, the HDMI and power cables, making sure they were plugged in tight. No loose connections allowed!
Then I powered on my Blu-ray player and TV. I had to find the right input source on the TV. So I pressed the ‘Input’ button on my TV remote a few times until the Blu-ray player’s menu screen popped up.
Once everything was on, I inserted the Cars 2 Blu-ray disc into the player. I waited for the disc to load, and then the main menu appeared on the screen. It took a bit longer than a regular Blu-ray, which is normal.
I grabbed my Blu-ray player remote and navigated through the menu to find the ‘Play’ option. Sometimes, you need to pick the 3D version in the settings. There was nothing this time, so I clicked ‘Play’, and the movie started.
Next up was making sure my 3D glasses were ready. I made sure they were charged up and turned them on. I put on the glasses and waited for the 3D to kick in. Sometimes I need to adjust the 3D settings on my TV or Blu-ray player, but most of the time, it works automatically.
And there it was, Cars 2 playing in glorious 3D! I sat back, relaxed, and enjoyed the movie with all those cool 3D effects. It felt like Lightning McQueen and Mater were right there in my living room!
My setup
- Sony Blu-ray player
- LG 3D TV
- A pair of active shutter 3D glasses
Watching a 3D Blu-ray is a bit more involved than a regular movie, but it’s totally worth it for that immersive experience.
