Alright, so, about this “Frosty Friends 2023” thing. I decided to jump in and see what it’s all about. I heard there was some kind of virtual snowman building contest, which sounded kinda cool, and something about ice slides. Sounded like a good time, so I thought, why not?
First off, I tried my hand at this virtual snowman building contest. I mean, how hard could it be, right? I started gathering virtual snow, which was a bit weird, I gotta say. No cold hands, though, so that was a plus. I started to form the body, a big ball of snow for the base, then a medium one for the torso, and a smaller one for the head. It was actually kinda fun, like playing a video game but with more creativity involved.
Then came the decorating. I scrounged around for virtual accessories – a carrot for the nose, some coal for the eyes and mouth. Found a snazzy top hat and a scarf, too. I spent a good hour tweaking things, making sure my snowman looked just right. It’s amazing how absorbed you can get in something so simple. I even named him “Snowbert”.
Real-world fun
After that, I checked out this Frosty Fun event. They had these massive ice slides, and I’m not gonna lie, I was a bit nervous. Haven’t been on a slide in years. But hey, when in Rome, right? I climbed to the top, took a deep breath, and pushed myself off. Whoosh! It was a blast! Felt like a kid again, screaming my head off as I zoomed down.
- I think I went on the slides at least five times.
- I even convinced a few other folks to join me.
- We were all laughing and having a great time.
There were also these huge ice sculptures of Frosty and some other characters. They were pretty impressive, I gotta admit. I took a bunch of pictures, of course. Gotta document these things, you know? There was also this thing about Frosty and his friend Karen making their journey on the North Pole Express. It was some kind of show, I think. I watched it for a bit, but it was more for kids, so I didn’t stick around too long.
All in all, it was a pretty fun experience. I got to build a virtual snowman, conquer my fear of ice slides, and witness some cool ice sculptures. Not a bad way to spend a weekend, I’d say. Would I do it again? Probably. It’s a nice change of pace from the usual routine, and who knows, maybe I’ll even get better at building virtual snowmen.
Oh, and I almost forgot, I saw that the sign-ups for the event were full. I guess I got in just in time. Lucky me! I heard that it is the first event of this year. I will try the other events in the future. I hope that next event is as good as this one.
