Okay, so, I wanted to create my own comic. I’ve always been into drawing, but never really tried making a full-on comic book. I did some digging around and stumbled upon this software called “Total D Comic Studio”. It looked pretty decent, so I decided to give it a shot.
First things first, I downloaded the software from their official website. It wasn’t free, but they had a trial version, so I went with that. The installation process was a breeze. No hiccups there. After it was all set up, I opened it up and was greeted with a clean interface. Nice!
Next, I started playing around with the tools. They had everything a budding comic artist could ask for: pens, brushes, erasers, rulers, you name it. I spent a good hour just testing out different brushes and line thicknesses. I have to say, the pen pressure sensitivity was pretty impressive. It felt like drawing on real paper.
My First Comic Panel
Once I got the hang of the basic tools, I decided to create my first panel. I sketched out a rough outline of a character, this cool superhero I had in mind. Then, I inked it using the pen tool. I have to say the software was quite intuitive. I didn’t even have to go through the tutorials.
I added some colors using the fill tool and played around with the shading options. Total D Comic Studio has this neat layer system, just like Photoshop. This made it super easy to work on different parts of the drawing without messing up the other parts.
- Sketching: Laid down the basic idea.
- Inking: Defined the lines and made it look sharp.
- Coloring: Filled in the colors, messed with the shades.
- Layering: Kept everything organized and clean.
After a few hours, I had my first panel completed. It wasn’t perfect, but I was pretty happy with it. The software definitely made the process a lot easier. I also tried the panel layout options, they were quite helpful in organizing the comic pages. You could choose from different templates or create your own. Super flexible!
I continued working on my comic for a few days. Exporting the finished pages was easy as pie. I saved the files and shared them with a couple of friends. They were impressed, I won’t lie. I’m really happy that I’ve found this software.
All in all, I’d say Total D Comic Studio is a solid piece of software. It has all the tools you need to create a comic, and it’s pretty user-friendly. If you’re thinking about making your own comic, I’d definitely recommend giving it a try. You might even surprise yourself!
