Alright, so I wanted to mess around with some video stuff, specifically this “horror VOD” idea I had. I didn’t really have a plan, just a vague concept and a bunch of random clips I’d saved over time.
First, I gathered all my footage. This was a pain, honestly. Stuff scattered across different folders, some on my phone, some on my old hard drive. It took a while to get everything organized into one place.
Getting Started
Next, I needed some software. I’m no pro, so I just grabbed a free video editor I found online. It looked simple enough, with a timeline and some basic effects.
- Imported all the clips.
- Started dragging them onto the timeline, trying to make some sense of it all.
This is where things got… interesting. I quickly realized that just throwing clips together doesn’t make a video. It looked like a jumbled mess. I spent a good chunk of time trimming clips, cutting out the boring parts, and trying to find bits that flowed together, at least a little.
Finding the Flow
Then came the “horror” part. I played around with some of the built-in effects. Lots of color adjustments, trying to make things look dark and creepy. Added some flickering effects here and there. Found some spooky sound effects online and layered those in. It was all very trial and error.
Honestly, I spent hours just tweaking things. Moving clips around, adjusting the timing, adding and removing effects. It felt like a never-ending process. There were times I wanted to just scrap the whole thing, but I kept pushing.
The Final Touches
Finally, I had something that resembled a “horror VOD.” It wasn’t perfect, not by a long shot, but it was… something. I exported the video, which took forever, and then watched it back. I will watch it serval times.
It was definitely rough around the edges. Some of the transitions were clunky, the sound wasn’t perfectly balanced, and the overall pacing was probably off. But, you know what? I made it. From a random idea to an actual video file. That felt pretty good.
