Okay, so, I wanted to get into this whole “Absolute Power” thing in the DC universe, right? I’d heard a bit about it, like Amanda Waller going all out and messing with everyone who has superpowers. Sounds wild, doesn’t it?
So, first, I grabbed a copy of Batman: Year One from way back in 1987. I figured, if I’m diving into Batman, I gotta start at the beginning. This one’s cool because it’s not just about Batman. You get a good look at other characters like James Gordon and Catwoman too.
Then I moved on to Batman: The Man Who Laughs. This is where Batman and the Joker first meet. It’s pretty iconic, and I wanted to see how their whole rivalry started. I spent a good few days, just reading.
After that, I started looking into this “Absolute Power” storyline. Apparently, it ties into a lot of stuff that’s been going on in what they call the “Dawn of DC” era. I dug around a bit, trying to piece together what Amanda Waller was up to. It seemed like she was setting things up for a long time, and it all comes to a head in “Absolute Power.”
I decided I needed to catch up on this “Dawn of DC” stuff, so I checked out a bunch of comics related to that. It’s a lot, but it helps to understand what’s going on in “Absolute Power.” I read through a bunch of issues. Most of them are good and have lots of details.
Finally, I got my hands on the first issue of “Absolute Power.” Everything I’d read before started to make sense. It was like, “Oh, so that’s what she was planning!” I spent a whole evening just poring over it, trying to figure out all the connections.
Here’s what I did to make it easier to read all this stuff:
- Read Batman: Year One to get the basics of Batman’s origin.
- Checked out Batman: The Man Who Laughs to see the first Batman-Joker showdown.
- Explored the “Dawn of DC” comics to understand the background of “Absolute Power.”
- Read the first issue of “Absolute Power” to see how it all ties together.
It was a lot of reading, but totally worth it. I’m hooked now and can’t wait to see where this “Absolute Power” story goes. If you’re into DC comics, you should definitely check it out!
