Okay, so, I decided to get into the “One Piece” manga, ’cause, you know, it’s, like, super popular. I was just curious, so I picked up the first volume. And, man, it’s a whole different world compared to what I’m used to!
First off, I grabbed a physical copy from the bookstore. They had a bunch of volumes, so I just started with the first one. I also heard you can read it online or get e-books, but I like having the actual book in my hands.
Then, I had to figure out how to actually read the thing. Turns out, you read it from right to left, which is totally opposite of what I’m used to with Western comics. I kept getting confused at first, going left to right and messing up the story. But I figured it out eventually. You start with the panel on the top right, read to the left, and then move down to the next row. It’s like a zig-zag pattern.
My Reading Process
- Find a quiet spot to read.
- Open the manga to the first page.
- Start with the top right panel.
- Read to the left, following the speech bubbles.
- Move down to the next row when I hit the end of the current one.
- Take breaks when I get tired or confused.
- Keep reading until the end.
It took a bit of getting used to, but once I got the hang of it, it was pretty smooth sailing. The art is really cool, and the story is exciting. I can see why people love it so much. I’m still pretty new to it, but I’m definitely enjoying the adventure so far!
