Alright, so I wanted to find some movies that were kinda like “Looper.” You know, that one with Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, all about time travel and assassins? That movie messed with my head in a good way, and I was itching for more of that vibe.
So, first, I just started Googling. You know, the usual. Typed in “movies like looper” and hoped for the best. I got a bunch of lists, some obvious, some… not so much. I mean, “Looper” is pretty unique, right?
I skimmed through a few of those “Top 10” lists, and a couple of titles kept popping up. Stuff like:
- Primer: Heard this one was super low-budget but really mind-bending. Apparently, the time travel rules are crazy complicated.
- 12 Monkeys: Another Bruce Willis time travel flick! This one’s older, but I remember seeing bits and pieces of it as a kid. Seemed pretty dark.
- Predestination: Ethan Hawke. Heard this one had some serious twists and turns.
- Source Code: Jake Gyllenhaal, reliving the same eight minutes over and over. Not exactly time travel, but close enough, I guess.
- Timecrimes: A Spanish movie, I think? The description sounded wild, something about a guy going back in time just a little bit and things getting out of control.
I jotted down those names. Then I figured I’d check out some trailers on YouTube. I watched a few, and honestly, “Primer” looked intense. Like, I might need a whiteboard and a PhD to understand it. “12 Monkeys” looked good, definitely that gritty, dystopian feel. “Predestination” seemed intriguing, and “Source Code” looked like a solid action thriller, even if it wasn’t pure time travel.
“Timecrimes”, looked the most fun and intersting of all the ones I watched!
After that,I try to find out where I could watch some of these movies.
I already have accounts with most of the usuals, so, after some trial and error, it turned out that the easiest one to find at that moment was “12 Monkeys,” so I decided that’s what I would start with!
So, that’s where I’m at. I’ve got my list, did a bit of research, and picked my first one. Gonna grab some snacks, settle in, and see if “12 Monkeys” lives up to the hype. If it’s good, I’ll move on to the others. Wish me luck – I might need it to keep all these timelines straight!
