Okay, so the other day I was trying to find something to watch, and I was like, “You know what? I want something kinda like ‘Eyes Wide Shut,’ but…better.” Sounds simple, right? Wrong. Turns out, that’s a surprisingly tricky thing to nail down.
First, I jumped on Google. I literally just typed in “movies better than Eyes Wide Shut.” That brought up a whole bunch of lists, some helpful, some…not so much. I scrolled through a few, jotting down names that sounded interesting. Stuff like “The Skin I Live In,” “Mulholland Drive,” even some older flicks like “Belle de Jour.”
My Watchlist:
- The Skin I Live In
- Mulholland Drive
- Belle de Jour
- Some Others I Forgot
Then, I decided to get a bit more specific. I started thinking, “What exactly do I want that’s ‘better’?” Was it the creepy atmosphere? The exploration of hidden desires? The whole secret society thing? So I started refining my searches. I tried things like “erotic thrillers with secret societies,” “movies about hidden desires,” that kind of thing.
This led me down some weird rabbit holes, I’m not gonna lie. Some of the suggestions were…intense. Let’s just say I added a few more filters to my search after that!
After all that digging, I ended up with a pretty solid list. I haven’t watched them all yet, so I can’t say for sure if they’re all better than “Eyes Wide Shut” – that’s subjective, after all. But I feel like I’ve got a good starting point. I watched “The Skin I Live In,” and it was fantastic.
So, that’s my story. I went in looking for one thing, ended up on a whole journey. Finding a “better” movie is a total pain, it depends. But hey, that’s half the fun, right?
