Okay, so, “Kiss of the Rabbit God.” Sounds kinda fancy, right? I saw this phrase floating around online and got curious, It seemed like some kind of cocktail or mixed drink thing. I figured, why not try to make one myself? I’m no bartender, but I do like experimenting in the kitchen.
First things first, I googled it. I’m used to seeing what people are talking about, and searched “kiss of the rabbit god recipe” Of course, the results were all over the place. Some talked about a Chinese myth, others mentioned a video game… and there were a few actual drink recipes mixed in. I ignored the mythology and game stuff – I just wanted a drink!
I picked a recipe that seemed easy enough. Here’s what I grabbed:
- Some white rum (I had some leftover from a party)
- Creme de cacao (which, thankfully, I already had for making chocolate martinis)
- Some heavy cream (the recipe called for it, made sense)
- Grenadine (because why not add a bit of color?)
- A few ice cubes
The recipe I found online was pretty vague, didn’t give exact amounts, just said “equal parts” of the rum, creme de cacao, and cream. So I kind of eyeballed it.
My Shaky Process
I dumped some ice into my cocktail shaker (it’s a cheap one, nothing fancy). Then, I poured in some rum, then about the same amount of creme de cacao, and then the same amount of heavy cream. I added a splash of grenadine, just for fun. I screwed the lid on tight (very important!), and I started shaking.
I shook it for, like, a minute. My arms got tired, to be honest. Then, I poured the whole thing into a glass. It looked… okay. Kinda pinkish, kinda creamy. Not super exciting, but not bad, either.
I have tasted my own DIY cocktail drink, The taste? Surprisingly good! It was sweet, but not too sweet. The chocolate and rum went well together, and the cream made it smooth. The grenadine added a little something extra. I’d definitely make it again, maybe next time I can try a different grenadine.
So, that’s my “Kiss of the Rabbit God” adventure. Not exactly earth-shattering, but it was a fun little experiment. And I got a tasty drink out of it. Cheers!
