Okay, so I’ve been wanting to add a Marvel Legends Magik figure to my collection for a while now. She’s just such a cool character with a unique look, and I knew it would be a fun project to get her displayed just right.
First things first, I gotta find the figure. That’s step one, right? I checked some online stores, also hit up a couple of local comic shops. Finally found her on some random site, and boom, I ordered it. Waiting for the package felt like forever!
When the box finally arrived, I ripped that thing open like a kid on Christmas morning. The figure itself? Pretty awesome. The details on her Soulsword and the armor pieces are super intricate. I also liked the extra accessories, like the different heads and the little Lockheed dragon.
Now, for the fun part, setting her up! I spent a good hour just trying out different poses. The articulation on these Legends figures is pretty good, so I could get her into some dynamic stances. I ended up going for a pose where she’s holding her sword up, ready to strike, with Lockheed perched on her shoulder.
- Find a good spot on my shelf. I have this whole X-Men display going, and Magik needed a prime location.
- Adjust the lighting. Yeah, I’m that guy, I have little spotlights for my figures. Gotta show off the details, you know?
- Make sure she’s standing securely. No one wants a figure taking a tumble off the shelf.
Then I took many photo of her, and post to my Instagram.
All in all, it was a super satisfying project. Finding the figure, getting her posed just right, it’s all part of the fun of collecting. Now Magik is standing proudly with the rest of my X-Men, and the display looks even cooler.
