Okay, so I was thinking about movies like “Braveheart” the other day, you know, that epic flick with Mel Gibson all decked out in blue face paint, screaming about freedom. I got this itch to find more movies with that same kind of vibe – swords, battles, and a whole lot of yelling.
First, I grabbed my laptop and fired up Google. Just typed in “movies like Braveheart” and hit enter. Boom! Tons of stuff popped up. There are like a gazillion articles and lists about movies similar to “Braveheart”. I started clicking around, reading through some of these lists.

- Gladiator
- The Patriot
- Rob Roy
- And a bunch more…
Then I thought, “Why not check out some movie sites?” So I headed over to TMDb. They’ve got this whole system where you can find similar movies based on keywords and stuff. It’s pretty neat. I searched for “Braveheart” there, and found a section that showed related movies. TMDb suggested a bunch of other films.
After that, I remembered about Letterboxd. It’s like a social network for movie buffs. I checked it out, and sure enough, they had lists dedicated to movies like “Braveheart”. People were discussing and recommending all sorts of films, some of which I’d never even heard of. There are 72 films similar to Braveheart, I learned it from Letterboxd.
Next, I decided to see what the streaming services had to offer. I jumped on Netflix, Amazon, and iTunes and used their search functions. Just typed in “Braveheart” or “movies like Braveheart” and browsed through their recommendations. It’s pretty cool how each platform has its own set of similar movies.
While I was at it, I stumbled upon this site called Filmaffinity. It’s like a recommendation engine based on user votes and reviews. They have lists, and reviews, and all that jazz. I spent some time there, exploring their suggestions and reading what other users had to say about movies like “Braveheart”. They mentioned a movie called “The Shawshank Redemption”, not really like “Braveheart” but still about personal freedom, so that’s interesting.
Found some real gems. I even made my own little list, jotting down the titles that really caught my eye. I guess there are plenty of movies out there that capture that same spirit of adventure, historical drama, and epic battles, just like “Braveheart”!

So, yeah, that’s how I spent my afternoon – diving deep into the world of movies like “Braveheart”. It was a fun little adventure, and I’ve got a bunch of new films to add to my watchlist now. If you’re a fan of that flick, maybe you should give it a try sometime. There’s a whole world of epic cinema out there, just waiting to be explored!
