Okay, so today I wanted to find some movies that gave me the same creepy, sci-fi horror vibes as Event Horizon. I’m a big fan of that movie, and I’ve been itching for something similar.
My Search Process
I started by, you know, just thinking about what I liked about Event Horizon. It’s got that isolated spaceship thing, the whole “we went somewhere we shouldn’t have” mystery, and, of course, the terrifying, bloody stuff. Plus, the psychological horror, that feeling of dread. So, I made a note to search for this.
Then I got to work. I fired up my web browser and started with some basic searches. I think I typed in “movies like Event Horizon” or maybe “sci-fi horror movies similar to Event Horizon”. I also added some keywords that came to my head, like, “space horror”, “psychological horror in space”, “spaceship horror movies”. I use several movie websites and forums.
I started to get the usual suspects and I had a few that I’d already seen, of course:
- Alien: Classic, but I’ve watched it a million times.
- Sunshine: Pretty good, more sci-fi than horror.
- Pandorum: This one kept popping up.
- The Black Hole: Never seen it, sounds interesting.
I went through a bunch of lists. I also checked out some Reddit threads where people were asking the same question. I read through the comments, seeing what other people recommended and why.
I also used some movie databases to find movies with similar tags or keywords. Stuff like “space travel,” “supernatural horror,” “psychological thriller,” that kind of thing.
Making My Watchlist
After browsing for a while, I started a list of movies that sounded promising. I jotted down some notes about each one, like why it caught my eye. For example:
- Pandorum: Seems to have that “lost in space, going crazy” vibe.
- The Black Hole: Older movie, but people say it’s got a creepy atmosphere.
- Life: I am sure I have seen this one, but I forgot the name.
I figured this would be a good starting point. I didn’t want to just pick movies randomly. I wanted ones that really seemed to fit the Event Horizon mold.
Now it is time to watch these movies.
