Man, I’ve been on this kick lately, trying to snag one of those My Melody Squishmallows. You know, the super cute, plushy ones? I’ve always had a soft spot for Sanrio stuff, and when I saw they had a My Melody version, I knew I had to have it.
So, I started my hunt. First, I hit up all the usual suspects – Walgreens, Five Below, even Costco. I figured those big-box stores would have them, right? Wrong. I rummaged through the plushie aisles, asked the staff, even checked their websites – nothing. Nada. Zilch. These things are like unicorns, I swear.

Then, I went online. I browsed through a bunch of online retailers, hoping to get lucky. I found a few listings, but they were either crazy expensive or constantly out of stock. I mean, one site said it was “backordered” and would “ship as soon as it’s back in stock.” Yeah, right. Like I’m going to wait an eternity for a stuffed toy.
I was starting to get a bit obsessed, I must admit. I even started deep diving into the world of Squishmallows. Did you know there’s a “Rarity Scale”? Apparently, the “Founder’s Edition” is the rarest. It makes a JSK the Cat the rarest because of only 250 units. And even among the regular ones, some are super hard to find, like this “Jack the Black Cat” – only 500 of those bad boys exist. It’s a whole world, I’m telling you. New ones are released all the time, so it is hard to keep track of them all.
- Started searching in physical stores like Walgreens, Five Below, and Costco.
- Checked online retailers, but found them to be expensive or out of stock.
- Learned about the Squishmallows Rarity Scale and the existence of rare editions.
- Realized new Squishmallows are frequently released, making it a challenge to keep track.
Anyway, after days of searching, I finally found one! It wasn’t easy, and I might have paid a little more than I wanted to, but I got it. It’s so soft and squishy, and it’s the perfect addition to my collection.
The Success
Finally, I got my hands on a My Melody Squishmallow! It’s now proudly displayed on my shelf. And I found it is good to put it on my squishlist.
