Okay, so, I went to New York Comic Con. And let me tell you, it was a wild ride. I mean, this is the biggest pop culture event in the whole country!
First off, I made sure to double-check everything on the convention’s website. You know, gotta make sure you got all the details right. The place, the time, who’s gonna be there, all that stuff. This year was the 18th time they held Comic-Con in New York, which is pretty crazy if you think about it.
So, I got there, and man, the place was packed. People everywhere, dressed up as their favorite characters, It was like stepping into another world. It’s like a whole different universe, seeing all these people in costumes.
Now, one of the main reasons I went was to see Kim Coates. I’m a huge fan. I heard he was gonna be there, and I just had to go. Seeing him at this kind of event, it’s like a dream come true for a fan. You get to see these people you admire up close. There were a lot of other actors too. I saw some names like Keir Gilchrist, Dascha Polanco, Jake Weary, and Pooya Mohseni. They’re joining the cast of some show’s second season. Cool, right?
I also checked out this site called Roster Con. They have all the info about different conventions, not just for comics, but for anime, movies, and TV shows too. It’s a good place to find out about meet and greets with your favorite stars.
The Experience:
- Getting There:
I planned my trip well in advance. Booked my tickets, found a place to stay, you know, the whole nine yards. Getting there was part of the adventure. The excitement starts building up the moment you start planning.
- Inside the Con:
Once inside, it was a sensory overload. Booths everywhere, people selling comics, toys, all sorts of merch. Artists showcasing their work, panels with actors and creators, it was a lot to take in. You literally walk around with your jaw dropped.
- Meeting Kim Coates:
This was the highlight, of course. There was a Q&A session, and then a meet and greet. I got an autograph and a photo. It’s a bit surreal, meeting someone you’ve only seen on screen. He was super nice, by the way.
- The Atmosphere:
The energy at Comic Con is just something else. Everyone’s excited, everyone’s passionate about what they love. You meet so many people, make new friends, it’s a really cool community vibe. Everyone’s just so into it, it’s infectious.
All in all, it was an amazing experience. I’m already thinking about going again next year. If you’re into this kind of stuff, you gotta check it out. Trust me, it’s worth it.
