Okay, so I’ve been hyped about this Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero game for a while now. I finally decided to splurge and go for the collector’s edition on my PS5. Let me tell you, it was a whole thing.
First, I started hunting online to see what was actually included in this bad boy. Turns out it’s called the Premium Collector’s Edition, and it’s a hefty $229.99. I gulped a bit at the price, but I mean, it’s Dragon Ball. I found out it comes with the game itself, obviously, plus some other goodies.

I placed my pre-order, and the waiting game began. I spent hours browsing forums and watching gameplay videos. The whole time, I was getting more and more excited. People were talking about the different editions and trying to decide which one to get. I felt pretty good about my choice, though I did wonder if I was crazy for spending so much.
Then, the release date was announced – October! It felt so far away. I kept myself busy, re-reading the manga, re-watching the anime, you know, the usual fan stuff.
When October finally rolled around, I started getting anxious. I tracked my order like a hawk, and finally, it arrived! I ripped open that box so fast, nearly taking off a finger in the process. I pulled out the game and it was packaged really nicely. Seeing that “PlayStation 5” on the box gave me chills.
I popped the game into my console, and that startup sound never sounded so sweet. The menu loaded, and there it was, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. I started playing, and oh boy, it was like being a kid again.
The gameplay was insane. It took everything I loved about the Budokai Tenkaichi series and just cranked it up to eleven. The graphics were stunning, the combat was fluid, and the roster was huge.

I also discovered this cool Ultimate Edition Bonus thing. It lets you summon Super Shenron in the game, even if you don’t have all the Dragon Balls! You can wish for stuff like zeni or even unlock characters. Pretty neat, right?

Combat:
-
Rush attacks:
It felt intuitive. I mashed the buttons, charging into my opponents, and pulled off some awesome combos. It was so satisfying to smash Frieza into a mountain!
-
Ki:
Managing Ki was crucial. I had to balance between using special attacks and saving up for transformations. It added a whole layer of strategy that I really enjoyed.
-
Perception and Sonic Sway:
This was a game-changer. By holding Circle, I could enter Perception mode and counter any rush attack. And if I timed it perfectly, I could do a Sonic Sway, which looked super cool and left my opponent wide open.

It was a blast learning all the moves. There were these “Perception” and “Sonic Sway” moves that were tricky to master. But once I got the hang of them, it felt like I was really in the anime, dodging and weaving like a pro.
All in all, getting the collector’s edition of Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero was a wild ride. From the pre-order stress to the gameplay itself, it was an experience I won’t forget. Was it worth the money? For a die-hard fan like me, absolutely. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go train to become a Super Saiyan!
