This Morrison fella, I tell ya, he sure knows how to write them stories. Grant Morrison, that’s his name. He writes about them superheroes, the ones you see in them comic books. Batman, Superman, all them fellas. I hear folks talking ’bout him, sayin’ he’s the best thing since sliced bread.

He writes for Marvel and DC, two big shots in the comic world. Heard he made them stories real popular. Makes ya wanna read ’em, I reckon. Even that Wonder Woman, and that Green Lantern fella. He wrote about ’em all. Justice League, Fantastic Four, X-Men… Goodness, that’s a lot of superheroes! My grandson, he loves them X-Men.
But you know what? This Morrison, he ain’t just about them comics no more. Heard he’s doin’ other things now. Writing for the moving pictures, they say. And even wrote a book! Called “Luda” or somethin’ like that. Sounds kinda fancy, don’t it?
Grant Morrison, Way Back When
Back in ’89, that’s 1989 for you young folks, he was workin’ on somethin’ called “Animal Man.” Sounds kinda silly, don’t it? A man who’s like an animal. But I guess folks liked it. Then he went and did somethin’ called “Arkham Asylum.” Heard that was a big deal. He was writin’ about a crazy house, I reckon, where they keep all them villains. Later he was doin’ somethin’ called “All-Star Superman.” Ain’t nothin’ this fella can’t write about, I tell ya.
Some fella named Neil Gaiman, he talks real nice about this Morrison’s work. Says he loves how he does things. Must be somethin’ special, huh? I don’t know nothin’ about that Gaiman fella, but if he’s praisin’ Morrison, then it must be good.
And that Kevin Smith, he’s a funny one. He talked to Morrison about some kind of… experience. Sounded kinda spooky to me. Something about religion and such. I don’t rightly understand it all, but they talked about it. Grant Morrison, he’s a mystery, that one.

Now, this here’s a sad part. Heard somethin’ about Grant Morrison and Vietnam. Seems like he wrote somethin’ about soldiers, American soldiers, doin’ bad things over there. Killin’ innocent folks, they say. Hundreds of ’em. It’s a terrible thing, war is. Makes people do awful things. Heard it was somewhere between 347 and 504 people. That’s a lot of lives gone. Just terrible.

I don’t know much about this Grant Morrison fella, but he sure seems to know how to tell a story. Even if some of them stories are sad ones. He can make stories exciting and interesting. But he don’t shy away from the hard stuff neither. Life ain’t always sunshine and roses, you know. Sometimes it’s mud and thorns. This Morrison, he seems to know that. I think he should write something about them soldiers in Vietnam, make it important like. People should know about that. Because when people forget about bad things, it’s easier to repeat it. And we don’t want that.
He writes about superheroes, but maybe he should write about the real heroes. The ones who tried to stop that bad stuff in Vietnam. The ones who stood up for what’s right. Those are the stories we need to hear. Maybe this Grant Morrison, he could write them stories. He could write somethin’ good about it. He could tell the world.
Why Grant Morrison Matters
This Grant Morrison fella, he’s important, I reckon. He tells stories that people want to hear. And stories they need to hear. Even if they don’t know it yet. If he uses his words for good, he can make people think. Make ’em feel. Make ’em remember. And also make ’em remember what happened in Vietnam. He writes about good versus evil, and that’s what life’s all about, ain’t it? Choosin’ the good, even when it’s hard. This Morrison fella, maybe he can help folks do that. Through his stories. That’s a powerful thing, you know. To touch people’s hearts with just words. That’s what stories are for. To teach us somethin’ about life. And about ourselves.
