Okay, so the other day, I was feeling super nostalgic and wanted to watch something that gave me the same warm, fuzzy feeling as “The Lion King.” I mean, who doesn’t love that movie, right? But I’d seen it a million times, so I wanted something new, but similar.
First, I grabbed my laptop and opened up my go-to search engine. I just typed in “movies like The Lion King”. Simple enough, yeah?
I scrolled through a bunch of lists, some of which were pretty obvious like “The Jungle Book” and “Bambi,”. I’ve seen those a ton too, so I kept digging.
My Finding Process
I started to filter what exactly I wanted to see and relate my searching.
- Something with animals, obviously.
- A coming-of-age story, you know, the whole growing up and learning about responsibility thing.
- Epic landscapes. I wanted that same grand, sweeping feeling that “The Lion King” has.
- Great music.
Then I found some article, I started refining my searches. I added phrases like “animal adventure movies” and “coming-of-age animal movies” to get better results.
It took a little while, but I stumbled upon titles “Brother Bear.”That looked promising.
Watched the film!
It was awesome! It hit all the right notes – animal main characters, a journey of self-discovery, beautiful scenery, and some pretty catchy songs. “Brother Bear” was the main one I really enjoyed.
So yeah, that’s how I spent my evening – a little bit of searching, a little bit of trial and error, and finally, a great movie that gave me those “Lion King” vibes I was looking for!
