Okay, so the other day I was bored out of my mind and decided to do something fun. I’m a huge Breaking Bad fan, so I thought, “Why not make a trivia game about it?” I’m no coding whiz, but I figured I could cobble something together.
Brainstorming and Setup
First things first, I needed questions. Lots of them. I spent a good chunk of time just rewatching some episodes, jotting down anything that seemed like a good trivia question. I also hit up the internet for some fan-made quizzes to get even more ideas. My text editor was basically overflowing with Breaking Bad facts.
Choosing the “Tech” (aka Keeping It Simple)
Now, I’m not about to build some fancy app. I wanted something simple and quick. I decided to just use some basic stuff that wouldn’t make my head explode. I ended up with a simple structure: I’d manually input the questions and answers.
The “Coding” Begins
Alright, “coding” is a strong word for what I did. It was more like organized copy-pasting. I started plugging in my questions and answers. I made sure to keep things organized.
Testing, Testing, 1, 2, 3
Once I had a decent number of questions in there, it was time to test. I played through it myself, making sure the questions made sense and, more importantly, that the answers were correct. Found a few typos and some answers that were, shall we say, slightly off. It’s amazing how many little details you forget!
For example, I totally blanked on the name of that fly in the lab episode. Fixed that.
Playing with Friends (and More Testing)
The real test was getting some friends to play. It was awesome! We had a blast, and I got some good feedback. They caught a couple more mistakes, which was super helpful. Plus, it was just fun to relive some of those crazy moments from the show with other fans.
Final Thoughts
It was a surprisingly fun project, It’s not perfect, and it’s definitely not fancy, but it works! More importantly, it was a great way to deep-dive back into the Breaking Bad universe and share that with some friends. If you’re a fan, I highly recommend giving something like this a try. It’s a fun way to test your knowledge and appreciate all the little details that make the show so great.
