Alright, so I was digging around the internet, trying to figure out if using third-party crosshairs in Hell Let Loose is a no-no. You know, those overlays that give you a different aiming reticle? I was curious because, well, sometimes the default ones just don’t cut it.
First, I jumped onto the official Hell Let Loose Discord server. Figured that’s where the devs and hardcore players hang out. I scrolled through a bunch of channels, used the search function like a madman, looking for any official word on crosshairs.
- I checked the rules and announcements channel.
- I searched for keywords like “crosshair,” “overlay,” “third-party,” and “ban.”
I found some discussions, but nothing definitive. Some players were saying it’s fine, others were saying it’s a gray area, and a few were warning about potential bans.
Next, I headed over to Reddit. You know, r/HellLetLoose, the usual suspect. I did the same thing there – scrolled, searched, and read through a ton of posts and comments.
The consensus there was even more mixed. It seemed like a “use at your own risk” kind of situation. Some people claimed they’d been using them for ages with no issues, while others shared stories of warnings or even temporary bans.
My Conclusion(so far)
It appears, that using Third-Party-Crosshairs is in the gray zone, it is not officially supported, and the devs can change the rules at any time.
So, I decided to play it safe. I’m not going to use any third-party crosshairs for now. I’ll just stick with the default ones, even if they’re not perfect. Better to be safe than sorry, right? I mean, I don’t want to get banned from one of my favorite games just for a slightly different aiming reticle!
I will continue playing and try to contact a community manager for an official statement on the issue. Once I got something, I will create another blog article.
