Yo, guys, I’ve been messing around with CS2 practice mode lately, and I figured out how to freeze time. It’s pretty cool, and I thought I’d share how I did it with y’all.
First off, I had to enable the developer console. If you haven’t done this yet, it’s easy. I just went into the game settings and toggled the “Enable Developer Console” option. Took me like, two seconds.
Once I had the console up, which I usually open with the tilde key, I typed in sv_cheats 1. This command is key because it lets you use cheats in the game. Without it, you’re stuck with the default settings, and that’s no fun.
After enabling cheats, I punched in host_timescale 0. This is the magic command that basically freezes everything. All the players, the bots, everything just stops. It’s like hitting the pause button on the whole game. I find it super useful for setting up specific scenarios or just taking a breather to plan my next move.
But I didn’t stop there. I wanted to get rid of the annoying freeze time at the start of each round. So, I used the command mp_freezetime 0. Now, as soon as the round starts, I can move around freely. No more waiting around like a sitting duck.
For those who like to practice specific maps with unlimited time, I also set the round time to 60 minutes using mp_roundtime_defuse 60. This gives me all the time in the world to explore every nook and cranny of a map without worrying about the round ending.
Some extra tips I use:
- mp_maxrounds [number]: I used this command to set the maximum number of rounds before switching to a new map. It’s useful when I want to focus on a map for a long time.
- mp_restartgame 1: This one restarts the game, which is pretty handy when I mess up and just want a do-over.
So yeah, that’s how I freeze time in CS2 practice mode. It’s a neat trick that’s helped me improve my game. If you guys have any other cool commands or tips, feel free to share them. I’m always up for learning new stuff.
