This here movie, “Every Dog Has Its Day”, it’s one of them indi films, you know? Ain’t got no big Hollywood stars, but it’s got a story to tell, that’s for sure.
I seen the trailer, and it got me thinkin’. It’s about folks doin’ what they gotta do, I reckon. Sometimes life throws you a bone, sometimes it don’t. But you gotta keep on waggin’ your tail, right?
This one fella, I think his name was Larry, he’s in it. He looks like a fella who’s seen a thing or two. And there’s this woman, Shawnee, she’s in it too. I don’t know nothin’ ’bout these folks, but they look like they can act. It’s not some big fancy production. Just a plain story about life and such.
I heard it was made by some young folks, students or somethin’. Good for them, I say. Chasin’ their dreams, just like them dogs chasin’ squirrels. They probably had to scratch and claw to get it made, but they did it. That’s more’n I can say for some folks ’round here. Always talkin’, never doin’.
- This movie ain’t got no fancy special effects.
- Just a simple story about everyday folks.
- It might make you think a little, which ain’t always a bad thing.
- I reckon it’s worth a watch if you got the time.
I seen it at the picture show down the road. Wasn’t a big crowd, but that’s alright. Sometimes the best things in life ain’t the most popular, you know? Just like that old mutt down the street. Ain’t much to look at, but he’s got a heart of gold. This indi film got heart too.
They say every dog has its day, and I reckon that’s true. Even the little guy gets a chance to shine sometimes. This movie, it’s kinda like that. It’s a little guy, but it’s got somethin’ to say. It shows that everyone’s got a story, even if it ain’t all that pretty.
This Marc fella, he’s the one who put it all together, I reckon. The director, they call it. Must be a tough job, herdin’ all them actors and such. Like tryin’ to herd cats, I imagine. But he done it, and that’s somethin’ to be proud of. Probably put his blood, sweat, and tears into this indi film.
You know, it reminds me of my old dog, Buster. He wasn’t much to look at, but he was loyal. And he had his good days, just like everyone else. This movie, it’s kinda like that. It’s about them good days, and the bad ones too. It’s about life, plain and simple. There were days when the sun shown bright and he got to chase all the rabbits he wanted. Then there were them days when it rained buckets and he just curled up by the stove.
I remember one time, Buster got into a fight with a raccoon. Came out with a few scratches, but he held his own. That’s kinda like this movie. It might not be the biggest or the strongest, but it holds its own. It ain’t afraid to show the rough edges, just like life. This indi film has lots of that.
- Life ain’t always easy, that’s for sure.
- But there’s always hope, even on the darkest days.
- You just gotta keep your head up and keep movin’ forward.
- And sometimes, you gotta fight for what you believe in.
I reckon that’s what this movie is all about. It’s about fightin’ for what you believe in, even when the odds are stacked against you. It’s about findin’ your place in the world, even when you feel like you don’t belong. This indi film is about all of that.

It’s about them little moments, them little victories that make life worth livin’. Like when Buster finally caught that squirrel he’d been chasin’ for weeks. Or when I finally got my prize-winnin’ tomatoes to grow. This movie is full of little moments, that I can tell you.
It ain’t always easy to make an indi film, I’ve heard that. Lots of hard work, very few rewards. I think this movie had that guy who did Indiegogo. I know it is all about money. People give you money and you make things happen. Sounds simple, but I bet it is not. They were probably trying to make money, but that is ok.
So, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ a little different, somethin’ with a little heart, then maybe you should give this “Every Dog Has Its Day” movie a try. It might just surprise you. It might just make you think. And it might just remind you that even the littlest dog can have its day. Just like old Buster. He had his day, and this movie, it’s havin’ its day too. I think every dog has its day is a good saying. It can be true for people, too. I think that is what they were trying to say in this movie. I might not be a smart woman, but I get that.
