Okay, so, I was thinking about trying something new with my video, and I had this crazy idea to make a “film hairy.” It sounded cool, and I’ve seen some movies tagged with ‘hairy’ so I thought, why not? I wanted to do something different, and this seemed like a fun challenge.
First, I started gathering my stuff. I grabbed my camera, some lights, and my computer. I didn’t really have a plan, but I figured I’d just start filming and see where it went. I watched some films that use narration, animation, and humor, just to get some ideas.
I started by filming some random stuff around my house. I filmed my cat, my messy room, and even my feet. I didn’t know what I was doing, but it was kind of fun. I realized that understanding film is all about understanding the choices a filmmaker makes. Either by following certain rules or breaking them. So, I tried to experiment with different angles and shots.
- I tried a close-up of my cat’s fur.
- I did a wide shot of my room.
- I even filmed my feet walking around.
After filming a bunch of random clips, I started editing. I used some free editing software on my computer. I watched some tutorials online to figure out how to use it. I tried to add some music and sound effects to make it more interesting. I also tried to use some stop-motion technique with my cat’s toys, but it was super hard! I’m not sure if it turned out well, but I tried. I used some animation effects from the software.
I spent hours editing, trying to make it look like a real movie. I added some transitions and filters. I even tried to add a voiceover, but my voice sounded weird, so I scrapped that idea. I discovered some archive footage online and fused it with my real-life footage. That was a pretty cool part, I guess.
Finally, I finished editing and watched the whole thing. It was… interesting. It wasn’t exactly what I had in mind, but it was definitely unique. I felt like I was turning back the clock, like those prequel movies. I don’t know if I’d call it a “film hairy,” but it was a fun experiment.
I showed it to my friends, and they were like, “What is this?” They didn’t really get it, but they said it was kind of funny. I guess it’s not for everyone. But I’m still proud of it because I made it all by myself. It was a good learning experience, and I think I’ll try making another one soon. Maybe I’ll even try to make it a real “film hairy” next time. Or maybe not, who knows?
This was a wild ride, and frankly, I’m not sure if this whole “film hairy” thing is for me. I learned a lot about filmmaking, though. It’s way harder than it looks. It’s kind of like I tried to make a blockbuster movie but ended up with something that’s more like a home video. It was definitely a mess, but hey, it was my mess. And that’s gotta count for something, right?
Lessons Learned:
- Filmmaking is tough.
- Editing takes forever.
- “Film hairy” might not be my thing.
- But hey, at least I tried!
I’m thinking maybe I should stick to something simpler next time. Maybe a vlog or something. Or maybe I’ll just go back to watching movies instead of trying to make them. I still have a lot to learn, but this was a fun, if somewhat confusing, first attempt. I guess you could say I’m still a bit hairy when it comes to filmmaking, but I’m learning!
