Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to get into this whole “Fall of X” thing in the X-Men comics for a while now. It’s supposed to be a big deal, a major event, and it starts in the summer of 2023. I kept seeing people talking about it online and it sounded super interesting, but also, like, really complicated.
First, I tried to just jump right in. Yeah, bad idea. I was totally lost. It was like walking into a movie halfway through, except it’s not just one movie, it’s a whole bunch of them, all connected, and I didn’t know any of the characters or what they were doing.
So, I stepped back. I figured I needed a plan. I started by asking around online, on forums and stuff. I just asked straight up: “What do I need to read to understand Fall of X?” And you know what? People were really helpful. They pointed me towards some key comic book collections, like “House of X” and “Powers of X.” They told me that these were like the start of the whole Krakoa era for the X-Men. And it’s a whole new world in terms of the storyline.
I found a few different reading orders online, but one called the “X-Men Reading Order” seemed the best. It listed a whole bunch of comics, saying they were “essential” or “recommended” for getting the full X-Men experience. I mean to see what’s going on here, you know?
I started with “House of X” and “Powers of X.” Man, those were a trip. They really set the stage for everything that’s going on now with the mutants. They introduced the concept of Krakoa as this mutant nation, and it changed everything for the X-Men. It showed the way of living of the mutants in Krakoa and it’s a whole new perspective on their situation.
Then, following the reading order, I dove into the “Dawn of X” comics. These are the ones that come right after “House of X” and “Powers of X.” There are a lot of them, like a bunch of different series all happening at the same time, but it’s cool because you get to see different parts of this new mutant world. For example, how the government was formed, how they elect leaders, and how the X-men come into play in protecting the nation.
My Reading Journey
Here’s a little breakdown of what I did:
- Started searching: Asked around online for what to read to understand “Fall of X”.
- Got some leads: People recommended “House of X” and “Powers of X” as the starting point.
- Found a reading order: Used the “X-Men Reading Order” as a guide.
- Read “House of X” and “Powers of X”: Mind blown. Totally changed my understanding of the X-Men.
- Dived into “Dawn of X”: Started exploring the different series in this era to see what’s up.
It’s been a lot of reading, but it’s been worth it. I’m starting to get a handle on this whole “Fall of X” thing. I’m not there yet, but I’m getting closer. I feel like I’m finally ready to tackle the main event comics when they come out. It’s like I’ve been putting together a giant puzzle, and now I can finally see the big picture starting to form. Still got some reading to do, but I’m excited to see where it all goes! It’s gonna be epic!
