Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with some comic art stuff, and I decided to try out this “pitaye” style I saw online. I’m not really sure what it’s supposed to be, but it looked kinda cool, so I figured, why not?
First, I opened up my go-to art program. You know, the one everyone uses. I started a new canvas and just stared at it for a while, not really knowing where to begin. I had a few ideas bouncing around in my head, but nothing concrete.
Then, I started sketching. Just some rough shapes and lines, trying to get a feel for this pitaye thing. I looked up some examples online. Some of it looked like fruit, other parts looked more like monsters. It’s weird, I gotta say. I didn’t really have a plan, so I just drew whatever came to mind. A few characters, some weird backgrounds, you know, the usual.
- Started with a basic sketch: Just some simple shapes to get the ball rolling.
- Added some details: Eyes, mouths, some spiky things. I don’t know, it felt right at the time.
- Experimented with colors: Lots of bright, vibrant colors. Pink, green, yellow. It was a bit of a mess, but a fun mess.
After a while, I started to see something taking shape. It wasn’t exactly what I had imagined, but it was definitely… something. I kept adding details, playing with colors, and just having fun with it. I wasn’t really trying to create a masterpiece, just trying out new things and learning as I go. It’s fun not to think too hard and just go with the flow sometimes.
The Result
In the end, I had a few pages of this weird pitaye comic art. I’m not sure if it’s any good, but I definitely enjoyed the process. Maybe I’ll try it again sometime, maybe not. Who knows? It was a nice way to spend a few hours, though. And hey, I learned something new, right? That’s always a win in my book. I think I might have created some new kind of monster. Or maybe it’s a fruit? I don’t know. It doesn’t even look like a pitaya, so I’m not sure why I did this to myself. But that’s how it goes when I try to make art.
