So, the other day, I jumped back into CS:GO, you know, just for a bit of fun, and I thought I’d spice things up by playing against some bots. I cranked up the difficulty to the max, expecting a real challenge, right? But guess what? Those bots were still acting like they were on easy mode or something. I mean, they were pretty much just standing around, making it way too easy to pick them off. Not exactly the intense match I was hoping for. It’s like, what’s the point of having difficulty settings if they don’t even make a difference?
I got curious and did a little digging around. Turns out, I’m not the only one who’s noticed this. There’s a whole bunch of folks online saying the same thing – the bot difficulty in CS:GO 2 just doesn’t change. They say it’s been like this for a while now. It seems the developers haven’t really updated the bot AI in ages. This is a big deal, you see, because, without smart bots, the game can feel a bit empty when you’re not playing with other people.
Here’s what I tried:
- Restarting the game: Thought maybe it was just a weird glitch or something. Nope, didn’t fix it.
- Changing the settings: I double-checked, triple-checked, and then checked again. The difficulty was definitely on the highest setting.
- Trying different maps: Maybe it was just one particular map that was messed up? Nope, same story everywhere.
My Thoughts
It’s a bummer, really. I was looking forward to practicing and getting better, but it’s hard when the bots are so, well, predictable. You start to wonder why they even bother with the settings if they don’t seem to do anything. You know, changing habits, especially in games, can be tough. But it’s a letdown when the game itself doesn’t even try to meet you halfway. It makes the whole thing feel a bit pointless, to be honest. And sometimes, the feeling is like “why we may be unconsciously choosing difficulty over ease” when we are trying to get some challenge. I really hope they fix it soon because playing against challenging bots is a great way to warm up and try new stuff out. It’s a shame that such a basic feature seems to be broken. It’s not like they need to make the bots super geniuses or something, just, you know, make them a little less dumb. Or at least make sure the difficulty slider actually does something. I felt like i was hitting a wall, not because the bots were tough, but because the game just wasn’t working right. Makes you wonder if the developers even play their own game sometimes. Anyway, that’s my little rant about the bots in CS:GO 2. Maybe one day they’ll get their act together and give us some bots that are actually worth playing against.
